This is an art archive dedicated to exploring the often overlooked realm of bathrooms within architecture. Stemming from a deep-seated fascination with the neglected yet essential spaces within buildings, this project seeks to shed light on the disparity between the lavish facades of public spaces and the neglected, sometimes even repulsive, interiors of their bathrooms. I found inspiration in the stark dichotomy between the opulent front-facing aspects of establishments and the oft-ignored, germ-ridden spaces tucked away behind closed doors.
In addition, capturing images of bathrooms served not only as a means of documentation but also as a therapeutic process for overcoming a phobia of germ-infested toilets. By confronting and engaging with the very source of their fear through humor, I was able to process my facinations and repulsions against bathrooms.
